Team 1100 is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team based at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, Massachusetts. The team is comprised of students from Algonquin and other surrounding towns which currently do not have FIRST teams, as well as students from area private schools without teams. Team 1100 is made up of students from grades nine through twelve who have a great variety of interests, along with many dedicated and talented mentors with diverse skill sets.
Team 1100 is now in its 13th year. The team helps develop interest in robotics at the middle school level by mentoring area FIRST LEGO League teams. In 2012, the team launched its highly-successful "Build Your Own Robot" Day, aimed at bringing the joy of robotics to 3rd - 6th grade students. The team also holds an annual event called T-Hawk Test Drive at which area Lego League teams come to Algonquin for a practice competition. Team 1100 participates in area fall festivals such as Northborough’s Applefest and Southborough’s Heritage Day by holding interactive robot demonstrations. With the help of dedicated advisors, mentors, and parents, Team 1100 continues to offer unique STEM opportunities for students in and around Algonquin Regional High School.
